If you wish to move to a different service provider, but keep your current phone number the same, you will have to request an MNP number from us.
Please be aware that after submitting an MNP number request, you will be unable to submit the following:
1. Plan change request
2. Termination request
※We can only issue MNP numbers for Voice+Data plans; Data-only plans are not eligible.
About the MNP issuance process:
1. Issuing the MNP number takes 2-3 days. Please plan the timing of your port-out accordingly.
If you request an MNP number after the 28th, there is a possibility you will not receive it in time to end your contract with us within the same month. In this case, you will still be responsible for the full monthly fee of the last month your line is active with us.
2. You do not need to submit a termination form if you plan to port-out via MNP. Your contract will terminate automatically once the port-out is complete.
3. The MNP number issue fee is 1,100 JPY per phone number.
4. MNP numbers expire 14 days after issuance.
If the MNP expires, you can contact us to issue it again 2 days after the old number expires.
To request an MNP number, please follow the below steps.
Step 1 - Access your My Page

Step 3 - Enter MNP information
Your new provider will receive your information exactly as you submit it in this form.
They will not see the name you have registered to our contract.
We recommend typing your name exactly as is written on your ID, as some providers may not accept your MNP number if the name you write does not match your ID.
If you have a middle name, please write it after your first name.
Step 4 - Submit the MNP request
The final step to complete the request submission will depend on your payment method.
For credit card
You will only need to confirm the information is correct, then submit the form. We will charge the 1,100 JPY fee once we have received your request, and you will receive a notification email once the request has been processed.
For cash payment (Smart Pit)
There will be additional steps to complete
Since we received a 20,000 JPY deposit as an estimate to cover the last two months of your contract, including calling/SMS fees, there is a possibility that it is not all needed. If your actual bills for your last two months are less than 20,000 JPY, we will refund you the difference.
Please choose your preferred refund method (PayPal or direct transfer to a Japanese bank account), then provide the relevant information in the next step.
When filling in Japanese bank account information:
- Account number: Do not enter any non-numerical characters such as "- (hyphen)".
- Account name (kana): Only katakana characters can be submitted. You will not be able to submit the form if non-katakana characters are entered.
Once you submit the MNP request, we will follow up via email to inform you that we have set up the payment for the MNP issuance (1,100 JPY). You will need to go to the convenience store to complete the payment using the Smart Pit number assigned to your contract.
The Smart Pit number will be the same one used to pay for your monthly fees. It can be found on your Sakura Mobile My Page.
For more details, please refer to: How do I find my Smart Pit Number?
Step 5 - Wait for your MNP number to be issued
Once we have confirmed your payment, we will request an MNP number from our provider for you, and you will receive the number via email approximately 2-3 days later.
Your contract with us will automatically terminate at the end of the month once you have successfully used the MNP number to port out to your new carrier.
