It is possible to cancel your contract right after it has started. However, please review the contents of this article carefully regarding the terms you must follow.
Japanese law
In Japan, consumers are protected by the "Telecommunications Business Regulation(電気通信事業法)". Under this regulation, consumers have the right to cancel their monthly contract by using the "Initial Stage Contract Cancellation Policy (初期契約解除制度)", which is valid the moment you enter into the contract and lasts 8 days. The contract's start date is considered day 1.
For example: If your contract starts on January 2nd, this policy will be valid until January 9th.
Once this early cancellation policy is applied, the monthly contract period will be exempted from our standard termination policy so that you can cancel your contract immediately.
However, there are non-refundable charges based on the products you ordered.
Non-refundable fees
Even if you cancel your contract immediately, there are certain processing and handling fees that are non-refundable.
SIM/eSIM contracts
We will still need to charge the below fees.
If the registration fee you paid at the start of the contract is more than this total, we will refund the difference.
If you paid less than the required fees, we will charge the difference.
Required fees (tax incl.):
・Contract handling fee: 3,300 JPY
・Monthly usage fees:
→ Any SMS/Call usage (charged according to our Calling rates)
・MNP issuance fee: 1,100 JPY (if an MNP number is requested)
Pocket WiFi and Home WiFi contracts
We will still need to charge the below fees.
If the registration fee you paid at the start of the contract is more than this total, we will refund the difference.
If you paid less than the required fees, we will charge the difference.
Required fees (tax incl.):
・Monthly usage fee: Prorated based on the amount of days the contract was active
Fiber internet contracts
We will still need to charge the below fees.
If the registration fee you paid at the start of the contract is more than this total, we will refund the difference.
If you paid less than the required fees, we will charge the difference.
Required fees (tax incl.):
・Contract handling fee: 5,500 JPY
・Installation fee: 22,000 JPY for physical installation or 3,300 JPY for remote installation
・Monthly usage fee: Prorated based on the amount of days the contract was active
・Additional fees: 3,300 JPY for weekend/holiday installation + any extra costs which were charged for additional and/or optional installation work
・Change of service provider fee (if issued): 3,300 JPY
