Requirements to use our Monthly service
1. The device is unlocked.
2. The device is compatible with the desired SIM type.
3. The device can receive signals from NTT Docomo (network band 1 and 19)
You can check our Compatibility Page for a quick overview of if your device is compatible or not.
If your device is not listed or if you’re unsure about its supported bands, please contact us with the device name, model number, and the specific location where you plan to use the SIM card. We’ll review the compatibility and get back to you with more details.
Otherwise, you can manually confirm the required specifications below.
1. How to check if your device is unlocked
For iPhone:
Go to Settings > General > About > Scroll down to "Carrier Lock"
If your phone says "No SIM restrictions", it is unlocked.
If your phone says "SIM locked", it is locked.
For Android:
Since you cannot check on the device itself, please confirm with your carrier if your phone is unlocked.
A locked device cannot use any SIM other than the phone's original carrier, so you will not be able to use our or any other company's service. In this case, please contact your original carrier about how to unlock your phone. We cannot assist in unlocking your phone.
2. How to check SIM compatibility
For physical SIM card:
There is a SIM card tray.
For eSIM:
There is an EID listed on the device.
FAQ: Where do I find the EID number on my phone?
3. How to check network band
Our SIM service uses NTT Docomo's network, which uses the following network frequencies:
Band 1 (2100MHz): Mainly used in most cities
Band 19 (800MHz): Mainly used in rural areas, mountains, lakes, islands, suburbs of Kyoto, Nara, Hokkaido (except Sapporo), and northern Okinawa
Your device must support Band 1 to ensure consistent signal coverage. Band 19 support is not required but can enhance connectivity in rural areas.
You can research your phone's device model for its supported 4G bands, or contact us with your phone's name/model and we can look it up for you.
