The installation method depends on the type of installation required, which is determined by the available equipment and the specific conditions of your building.
Even if your residence doesn't have an internet port, many buildings already have internal wiring prepared for fiber internet. In such cases, installation can be as simple as adding a port to your room, with no need for screws or drilling holes.
Rest assured, in 97% of cases, building management company conditions do not impact the possibility of a successful installation!
If there is no existing fiber equipment, installation may need to be carried out from the external telephone line. In such instances, we always contact the building management for approval before making any modifications. If management does not approve, we avoid using screws or drilling holes. In many cases, installation is possible with no physical modifications.
The installation work will be performed by a contractor hired by NTT. The optical fiber is pulled into the residence from utility poles or from the building's existing fiber equipment.
Screws are sometimes necessary to prevent the cables from hanging loose and causing inconvenience to neighbors. The hole in the wall will be only around 3-8 millimeters and will not pierce. Most of the time, the cable is drawn through an air conditioning duct, an air vent, etc. Only when those existing holes are not available, the installation team makes a new hole (less than 10 mm) to pull the cable into your room. A hole will be caulked to prevent water leaks.
We will be ready to provide English-Japanese interpretation support via the phone should it be required on the day of installation.
