VDSL is an internet plan that uses the equipment & piping already present in your building. Fiber optic cables are installed up to your building's Internet Equipment room, from there, telephone lines run to your apartment/room.
This plan has a max speed of 100 Mbps. (This is a theoretical maximum speed. Speeds may vary depending on equipment, environmental conditions, pages you are visiting, etc.)
In the vast majority of cases, this plan is more than enough to provide you with a stable and relatively fast internet experience, enough to cover any standard internet usage (watching Netflix, streaming YouTube, social media, etc).
Why VDSL?
In some instances, the equipment used for our 1 Gbps/10 Gbps plans is not available, or the piping used to introduce the fiber line all the way to your room is not present/damaged/unusable. In those cases, we offer this VDSL plan.
This plan uses the existing phone lines, and since the majority of buildings already have this equipment installed, the building management companies allow this type of installation. The installation is very likely to proceed without issues.
Alternative Option
It might be possible to attempt a physical installation of a fiber optic line to your residence (Family Plan); however, as there is a chance that physical modifications will be required (screws, drilling holes, etc), confirming the installation conditions with your building management company would be required. Depending on their conditions, the installation might not be viable.
If you are interested in this option, please let us know during your application.
