If you have received the "eSIM Cannot Be Added" error, the most likely cause is that the eSIM has already been installed through the pop-up notification, and the error appears because it cannot be installed a second time.
Please check your device's SIM list to see whether either of the following is present:
- A Japanese phone number (starting with +81, 070, 080 or 090)
- An eSIM labelled "Travel - ドコモ" with a phone number shown
If either of the above is present:
This means your eSIM has already been installed.
Please ensure that this eSIM is switched "on" in your SIM list and complete the APN settings below:
- Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
- Check whether there is a profile called "(Cellular) Sakura Mobile"
- If not, please use Safari to install the profile directly on your device
If neither of the above is present:
If the eSIM is not listed, or is listed but shows “No Number”, then the eSIM may have been deleted during installation and will need to be reissued. Please email us at contact@sakuramobile.jp, and we will assist you with the reissuance process.
